What
Competition among the South's 88 best USTA League Tennis Mixed Doubles teams in five adult and four senior divisions will run Oct.14-16, 2011. Nine Section Champion teams will be crowned and will progress to the USTA League Mixed National Championship. Mixed Doubles Adults 2.5, 7.0 & 9.0 will compete Nov. 11-13 in Tucson, Ariz. Mixed Doubles Adults 6.0 & 8.0 will compete Nov. 18-20 in Tucson, Ariz. The Senior Mixed Invitational will be held in San Antonio, Tex. in March 2012.
Who
Over 1,000 USTA League Tennis Mixed Doubles tennis players in adult levels (2.5, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, & 9.0) and senior levels (6.0, 7.0, 8.0 & 9.0) from Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee who have won their respective divisions at the state level. They represent over 43,000 mixed doubles players in the South.
When
Play begins Friday, October 14 and ends Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011.
Daily team matches begin at 8:00 a.m. Schedule will be posted Thurs. Oct. 6 after
3:00 p.m.

Match Format
Three mixed doubles matches are for each team match played in round robin competition. Each division has two groups with five teams in the round robin competition, with group winners meeting in the finals.
History
USTA League Tennis is the world’s largest recreational tennis league with over 300,000 players nationwide and over 100,000 adult, senior and mixed doubles players in the Southern Section alone. The program is open to women and men 19 years and older. Players from over 100 cities in the nine southern states experience the camaraderie and competition as play progresses through local, area and sectional competition and culminates in a national championship in each skill level. This is the first year Macon has hosted the USTA League Tennis Southern Sectional Mixed Doubles Championships.
