Mixed Doubles Section Championships

GEORGIA, LOUISIANA HAVE SUCCESS WITH THREE CHAMPIONS

MACON, GA. – October 16, 2011 – Tennessee had three champions and three finalists as 10 teams were crowned champions in the 2011 USTA Southern Mixed Doubles Section Championships Sunday.

Two other states had three winners and a second place team: Georgia and Louisiana. Knoxville, Tenn. scored with two champions and a finalist.

The winning teams advance to the USTA Mixed Doubles National Championships and will represent USTA Southern, the largest of the 17 USTA sections.

Mixed doubles adults 6.0, 8.0 & 10.0 will compete in Tucson, Ariz. Nov. 18-20 and mixed doubles adults 2.5 (5.0 in the USTA Southern tournament), 7.0 & 9.0 will compete in Tucson, Nov. 11-13. The Senior Mixed Invitational will be conducted March 30-April 1, 2012 for players 50 years and over.
